Intuition was a word I heard thrown around a lot, but even more was “follow your gut.” I never was one to follow “my gut” with things in life. I always did what was expected of me and tried not to cause any issues or conflict. No one told me to be this way, but I believe this is part of my learning process to listen to myself, to be myself - to be authentically me. To essentially love myself and accept myself for everything: my thoughts, feelings, issues, etc.
Rewind to mannyyyy years later and a lot of hard work and introspection on my part, I can now say I am able to listen to my gut and tap into my intuition more than ever. More than I ever imagines.
Many of us are programmed to just do what’s right or follow the crowd. Society brainwashes us to think that if we don’t get a decent 9-5, get married and have kids then we have somehow failed at life. This is BS! We need to see beyond those external expectations and listen to what makes us happy.
I have plenty of friends (men and women) that don’t want kids or don’t want to buy a home…they are happy being free and living life to the fullest. Different things will make each of us happy and we need to look inward to find what those “things” are. I don’t mean material things either. These are things at a soul level, something that calls out to us in whispers and makes us look to the future with excitement.
Many of you probably have had connection to your intuition. Like that one time when you “knew something” or “felt this would work out” or “things didn’t feel correct or aligned.” We all have the power to connect to the intuitive side of ourselves and use this to make decisions and align our lives in the best way possible.
Here are some tips I have to connect to your intuition and listen to your soul calling.
Meditate
Meditation and quieting the mind in general is great for connection to ourselves. We can’t possibly listen to our gut/intuition if we are stuck in the Ego mind. We use Ego so much in our day to day lives, but with intuition, Ego needs to be set aside completely. We can’t allow for it take part in certain life changing decisions and important matters that we want to align with. Sit in silence or with music (whatever best suits you) and just be, ask questions and see what answers come up. My guides speak to me when I meditate and I am sure if you can sit by yourself and ask for guidance you will find this to be true as well.
Akashic Records
The Akashic Records are such a powerful tool that we can each use to connect to ourselves, understand our path and understand ourselves. It’s a great way to push aside the Ego and get answers we need. There is no Ego in the Akashic Records.
I would highly recommend everyone to learn to read their own Akashic Records if this calls out to you, and use this everyday to study, to become more creative, to find answers and understand yourself. It’s such an insightful took that each of us can use for ourselves and getting clarity with our lives.
Oracle Cards & Tarot Cards
I have been turning to Oracle and Tarot cards more and more to connect to myself and my intuition. I even use them with my Akashic Record readings, to connect to the Guides and Masters.
Sometimes we need a physical manifestation of the guidance we are being given. For many of us, seeing the physical response will help us believe and accept the response. I have gotten so many incredibly aligned messages this way and it’s a matter of trusting your intuition and connecting properly to the deck.
Guides, Master and Being Of Light
Ask for messages and guidance from your Guides, Masters and Beings of Light. Let’s say you have a big decision you need to make or you aren’t sure about something. Sit with yourself and ask your Guides and Masters to assist you with this specific topic, say how you feel and ask for clarity on the issue. Ask for a sign, maybe even a specific sign if you are connected to something that means something to you.
Once we ask for the guidance we need to let go! Let go of when it will come through and allow life to happen. Watch out for messages and signs. Sometimes the signs can come through people and things, so just be open to receive what comes. Once the sign comes we need to be open to believe it, it’s easy to brush it aside. Trust!
Breathe-work & Mindfulness
Something I like to try every now and then is a sort of mini-meditation with just breathe work and mindfulness. Sit comfortably on a chair or cross legged on the floor and close your eyes. Do some deep belly breathing, you can even have some music playing to relax you. Focus on your breathing for a minute or two. Once you feel ready and relaxed asked yourself out loud a question you need clarity on. For example: Is it aligned for me to change my career to this other thing I want to do?
Once you voice the question out loud breathe normally and pay attention to how your body is feeling. Is it tensing up? Is it feeling light and free? Your body will have the answers. Pay attention to how it responds and this will give you so much insight and possibly even some answers you are looking for.
We all need to look inward in order to connect to our intuition. It’s about quieting your mind and your thoughts, the EGO. The Ego is with us to help us, but it can also play some dirty tricks on us. We need to get quiet and connect with our true essence in order to see what our soul is craving.
Another big aspect about intuition is trusting ourselves and the messages we get. It is very easy to just ignore how we are feeling and brush it aside. This is also part of the things we need to work on, trusting and allowing.
I hope this information has helped you in some way! Leave a comment if you have any other tips on how to connect to your own intuition.
